Get an OpenRouter key

Use models from many companies with a single OpenRouter API key.

OpenRouter is a service that lets you use models from many companies with one API key. To choose from these models in Typeside, get an API key and connect it.

OpenRouter deducts usage from credits you add in advance. Without credits you can still use free models, but the number of requests per day is limited. Check limits and prices in the OpenRouter FAQ.

Get a key

Sign in at openrouter.ai. If you don't have an account, create one.

To use paid models, add credits on the Credits page.

Create a new key on the API keys page.

Copy the whole key.

Connect it to Typeside

Follow the steps in Connect a service and choose OpenRouter. If the key is rejected or it says you're out of credits, see the same page.

OpenRouter has many models. After connecting, open OpenRouter from Add cloud model in AI ▸ Models, and click ★ next to the models you want in the Model list. Favorite models appear when you choose a model.
